NIRON INSTALLED IN AN INDUSTRIAL PLANT IN ILLINOIS

Wet tap performed on a NIRON 6” chilled water line in an induatrial plant in Bolingbrook, IL. The line has been in service for approximately two years. The facility decided to change a process, which required installation of a 2” branch. The wet tapping process is often the most convenient way of connecting new pipe to existing pipe without interruption of service. The procedure usually involves a tapping sleeve that is installed around the pipe to be tapped. The wet tap procedure allowed production to continue uninterrupted. During the installation, NUPI experts noticed that the inside diameter of the NIRON slugs that were tapped out of the side wall was as clean and smooth as the day it was installed 2 years earlier for this process chilled water line. This result reinforces NUPI position for maintaining a smooth inside diameter for the operational lifetime of the NIRON polypropylene PP-RCT piping system. The NIRON range, particularly suitable for use in large buildings and for industrial installations, has been selected thanks to the special characteristics of their raw material which ensures high mechanical resistance and duration, even at high temperatures and pressures. NIRON has become a recognized and trustworthy product range and has already been installed in various schools, colleges, hospitals, senior housing buildings, apartment buildings and industrial plants where safety and efficiency are of primary importance.
